As far as days go where no one gets sick or dies, yesterday was pretty lousy. I don't even know where to start so I might as well start with the worst: my desktop is totally fried. Out of nowhere it just gave up. I came home from work, saw it was running slowly, restarted it and it just returns out an UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT error which is also known by its more common name: UR_FCKD. I was going to buy a new desktop anyway but the timing is really, really, really bad. Although I have diligently kept a backup of passwords, it's inconveniently tucked in a folder on the desktop. I don't think the hard drives are too screwed up so if I get a new computer I don't think anything will be lost for good--it's just getting a new computer to shove them into.
From about 6-9:55pm the power went out and Die Chomp was freaking out. Good thing I have those little push lights all over my house. I played some guitar and learned the intro solo from My Sweet Lord but and half the intro riff from the Chili Pepper's Snow. It's kind of hard without the recording to reference but whatever.
The Cubs also lost last night in the first game of the playoffs. I hate that the games start at 10pm because they're in Arizona. You have to tip your hat to Brandon Webb though; he pitched a great game.
NEWS BRIEF: Notre Dame football practice was delayed nearly 2 hours after a player reported finding an unknown white powdery substance on the practice field. Head coach Charlie Weiss immediately suspended practice while South Bend Police and federal investigators were called to investigate. After a complete analysis, FBI forensic experts determined that the white substance unknown to the players was the goal line.
Practice was resumed after special agents decided the team was unlikely to encounter the substance again.
