My Episode | 08/16/05

No, I probably can't sell the President but I'd like to try. More importantly do you really think anyone would buy him?

I just don't get JavaScript. I'm not ashamed to admit it. I even know what it can do and how to use little bits of it. For the most part though it seems really stupid and tacky. Sure you can make things spin around all crazy and have other things appear and dissapear on command but if you want to just do subtle little things it makes it practically impossible. Now there are those that love it. I'm willing to cut some slack to nerds that love other languages. XML...Actionscript...ASP...whatever. But not JavaScript. At least with PHP when you type things out you can see the flow of things. Why the rant? Because I've been working on the Desperate Housewives page before the season starts and I want to you, my loyal reader, a chance to make your predictions before you read the synopsis from tvtome. So I find a generic script for hiding div's, make changes where I can see they need to be changed and then upload everything. Episode one and two are perfect...well, from a functional standpoint. But oh ho ho. Here comes Episode Three. Episode Three decides it wants to be at the very top of the page for no reason. My code looks like this:

picture of their heads
picture of their bodies
main body of the page
***episode 1 summary hidden****
***episode 2 summary hidden****
***episode 3 summary hidden****
bottom parts of picture

Yet it shows up like this:

***episode 3 summary hidden****
picture of their heads
picture of their bodies
main body of page
***episode 1 summary hidden****
***episode 2 summary hidden****
bottom parts of picture

Whatever. One day I'll be so rich that I can pay people to not write JavaScript. Like farmers paid to not grow beets.
